About
Cass Lake Loop is one of four campground loops within the Norway Beach Recreation Area in Chippewa National Forest, situated on the scenic shores of Cass Lake among mature red and white pine forest. This walk-in only campground features 12 tent sites accessible via a paved walking and bicycling path, making it ideal for campers seeking a quieter, more primitive experience away from RV traffic. Each site includes a large designated tent pad and can accommodate up to 8 people. Two of the sites and the vault toilets are fully accessible for people with mobility issues. Potable water is not available at this specific loop, so campers should bring their own water supply. Showers are available at the nearby Norway Beach Recreation Area south loop shower building. Cass Lake covers nearly 16,000 acres with 27 miles of forested shoreline, offering excellent fishing for walleye, northern pike, perch, and trophy muskie. Star Island in the middle of the lake features 6 miles of hiking trails. The Norway Beach Visitor Center nearby hosts interpretive programs and special events throughout the summer season.
