The combination of dry surface conditions, low afternoon relative humidity values, and gusty east to southeast winds will result in elevated fire danger conditions across northern lower Michigan the remainder of this afternoon. Sustained winds of 7 to 15 mph with gusts of 20 to 30 mph will be seen over northern Michigan this afternoon. Minimum relative humidity values of 20 to 35 percent are expected over much of northern lower Michigan. These conditions could lead to rapid spread of fires. About
North Higgins Lake State Park Campground sits on 449 acres along the pristine north shore of Higgins Lake in northern Michigan. The campground features 174 sites divided between east and west loops, with most sites offering electric hookups at 20, 30, or 50 amps along with water connections. Each loop has its own modern restroom and shower facility. The park's sanitation station features potable water and two lanes for RV servicing. The park provides excellent lake access with a designated swim beach, boating access site, and a pet beach east of the day-use area where leashed dogs can enjoy the water. Two mini cabins in the west loop offer an alternative to tent or RV camping, equipped with electricity, mini refrigerators, microwaves, and electric wall heaters. Beyond camping, the park offers trails popular for hiking and cross-country skiing in winter. The CCC Museum commemorates the Civilian Conservation Corps workers who helped develop Michigan's state parks during the 1930s. The day-use area includes a reservable pavilion with picnic tables, charcoal grills, electrical service, and modern restrooms.

Located at 11747 N. Higgins Lake Drive in Roscommon, Michigan. From US-27, take the Roscommon exit and head west on M-18/M-103 to N. Higgins Lake Drive, then follow signs to the park entrance.
