About
North Fork Campground is a small, primitive campground located 10 miles west of Stonyford in the Mendocino National Forest. The 10 sites are situated in an open grove of oak trees alongside a yearlong stream, providing a shaded, peaceful setting. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring, with vault toilets available. There is no potable water, so campers must bring their own supply, and all trash must be packed out. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis at $5 per night. Payment is made on-site via QR code using the Recreation.gov mobile app. Check-in is at 2:00 p.m. and check-out is at 11:00 a.m., with quiet hours from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. The campground accommodates trailers up to 30 feet. Recreation in the area centers on off-highway vehicle use and fishing. The Forest Service has developed an extensive OHV trail network accessible from the campground. Stream fishing is best in winter and early spring when water flows are highest. All OHV users must comply with California spark arrester requirements and vehicle registration laws.
