About

Davis Flat Campground sits at a lower elevation in Mendocino National Forest, surrounded by mountains with conifer trees and chaparral vegetation. The 20-site campground is a hub for off-highway vehicle recreation, providing direct access to the Stonyford OHV trail system and the nearby Nail Track OHV Area. The south end of the Grindstone Ranger District offers over 200 miles of challenging OHV routes, including the 40-mile Mendocino OHV Corridor connecting the Stonyford and Upper Lake staging areas. Each site has a fire ring and picnic table, with four dumpsters and vault toilets serving the campground. Potable water is not available, so campers must bring their own supply. The campground accommodates large trailers up to 50 feet, making it suitable for hauling OHV equipment. Hunters also frequent Davis Flat, and hikers can access the Bathhouse Trailhead nearby, a four-mile trail connecting to Deafy Glade and Snow Mountain Wilderness. All OHVs must have a current Green or Red Sticker or highway license, a Forest Service-approved spark arrester, and meet state sound requirements of 96 dBA or lower.
