About

North Fork Chewelah Dispersed Site occupies a spacious meadow along the North Fork of Chewelah Creek at approximately 2,590 feet elevation in Washington's Colville National Forest. This versatile recreation area serves multiple user groups: OHV enthusiasts, equestrians, anglers, and hunters during warmer months, and snowmobilers in winter when the site functions as a Sno-Park with access to 67 miles of groomed trails. As a dispersed camping area, the site provides basic amenities including a vault toilet and one picnic table located at the far side of the recreation area. Campfires are permitted in developed fire rings only. There is no potable water; campers must treat or filter water from nearby sources. Pets are allowed but must be under voice command or on leash. The area offers access to approximately 8 miles of the North Fork on National Forest lands, with fishable tributaries throughout. Standard dispersed camping rules apply: 14-day maximum stay, quiet hours from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., and proper food storage required. A Washington State Sno-Park permit is required from December 1 through March 31.
