About

North Fork Campground occupies a scenic riverside setting along the North Fork of the Cispus River in the Cowlitz Valley Ranger District of Gifford Pinchot National Forest. The campground is shaded by a mixed canopy of hemlock, maple, and Douglas fir, creating a classic Pacific Northwest forest atmosphere. Sites feature parking spurs ranging from 20 to 40 feet, with a few 40-foot pull-through options available. The location provides excellent access to outdoor recreation. The multi-use Valley Trail connects to over 50 miles of OHV trails, while the North Fork Loop and River trails offer foot-traffic-only hiking. The Cispus River yields brook trout, steelhead, and salmon for anglers. The campground sits between three major Cascade volcanoes: Mount St. Helens, Mount Adams, and Mount Rainier. Facilities include vault toilets, picnic tables, and grills at each site. A campground host is on-site with firewood available for purchase. Three group sites accommodate larger parties: Bear (35 people), Beaver (50 people), and Elk (25 people). Randle is the closest town and provides access to the Windy Ridge Lookout at Mount St. Helens.
