About
Ninemeyer Campground is located along the scenic Middle Fork Boise River Road (Forest Service Road 268) in the Boise National Forest. The campground suffered wildfire damage and currently operates without amenities. There are no developed campfire rings, meaning campfires are prohibited when Stage 1 fire restrictions are in effect. The setting along the river provides excellent opportunities for fishing, with rainbow and cutthroat trout in the Middle Fork Boise River. Swimming holes dot the river, and wildlife watchers may spot deer, elk, waterfowl, eagles, and osprey in the area. Access is via FS Road 268, a narrow and sometimes rough road that can make the drive lengthy. Weather is typically favorable from mid-May through late September. Several trails in the area accommodate hikers, equestrians, mountain bikers, and OHV users. Big game hunting is popular in season.
Directions
From Boise, take State Highway 21 north to the Arrowrock Reservoir turnoff. Proceed east on Forest Service Road 268 (Middle Fork Boise River Road) for approximately 38 miles, passing Arrowrock Dam and several other campgrounds. FS Road 268 is narrow and may be rough.
