About

The Trinity Lakes Guard Station is a historic cabin rental in the Boise National Forest, situated at 7,900 feet elevation in a dense lodgepole pine forest. The cabin is surrounded by four subalpine lakes: Big Trinity Lake, Little Trinity Lake, Big Roaring River Lake, and Little Roaring River Lake. Trinity Mountain, the tallest peak in the range at 9,451 feet, rises to the south. The rustic cabin sleeps six and is equipped with one double bed, a sofa bed, a drop-down kitchen table, cookware, dishes, and cleaning supplies. A wood stove provides heating and cooking capabilities. Outside, guests have access to a picnic table and campfire ring with grill. Drinking water is available from a nearby hand pump, and a vault toilet is located outside. The cabin is stocked with seasoned firewood, a splitting maul, axe, and hatchet. Guests must bring their own bedding, lighting, and emergency supplies. All trash must be packed out. The area offers excellent fishing for rainbow and cutthroat trout, hiking on the Rainbow Basin Trail system, and wildlife viewing for elk, deer, and black bears.
