About

Nestled at the beginning of New York Point in the southwest part of Myre-Big Island State Park, the group center sits along the northern shoreline of Albert Lea Lake. This facility is designed for organized groups of up to 50 people who bring their own tents or camper trailers for overnight camping. The center features a fully equipped commercial kitchen with stove, oven, griddle, refrigerator, freezer, stainless steel sinks, and all necessary dishes and cookware. The attached dining hall provides folding tables and chairs plus air conditioning for comfortable gatherings. Eight electric pedestals are spread throughout the camping area for RV hookups. Separate bathroom facilities serve men and women, each with flush toilets and hot showers. Groups have exclusive use of the entire facility during their reservation period. The location provides easy access to Albert Lea Lake for fishing, boating, and water activities, as well as the park's extensive trail system. The facility operates seasonally and must be reserved by calling the park office directly, as it is not available through the standard Minnesota state park reservation system.

Directions
