About

Muskallonge Lake State Park Campground occupies 217 acres between the majestic shores of Lake Superior and Muskallonge Lake in Luce County, Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The modern campground offers 159 sites equipped with electric hookups, with some sites providing 50-amp service and pull-through configurations suitable for larger RVs. The park is renowned for its exceptional dark skies, rated the darkest of any Michigan state park, making it ideal for stargazing and astrophotography. The campground provides modern restrooms with showers, a sanitation station, playground, and picnic areas. A boat ramp on Muskallonge Lake gives anglers access to excellent fishing opportunities, while Lake Superior's rocky shoreline across the road attracts rockhounds searching for agates. A buoyed swimming area is available within the campground. The park features connections to the North Country National Scenic Trail, offering hiking opportunities through forests and along waterways. Located in a remote area of the Upper Peninsula, the campground serves as an ideal base for exploring nearby attractions including Tahquamenon Falls, Grand Marais, Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, and the Two Hearted River. The park's isolated location ensures a peaceful camping experience surrounded by forests, lakes, and streams characteristic of Michigan's Upper Peninsula wilderness.
