About

Tettegouche State Park Group Campground offers a primitive group camping experience on Minnesota's spectacular North Shore of Lake Superior. The two group sites (GS1 and GS2) are cart-in tent-only, requiring a short 100-yard walk from the parking area with large carts available to transport gear. Each site accommodates up to 35 people and includes vault toilets, picnic tables, and fire rings with grills. Modern restroom and shower facilities are not provided, and campers must bring their own water as the nearest potable source is at the park office 1.5 miles away. The campground is ideal for Scout troops, family reunions, and other groups seeking a rustic experience. The surrounding 9,000-acre park features spectacular overlooks at Shovel Point, rocky steep cliffs, inland bluffs, and the cascading 60-foot High Falls of the Baptism River. The park offers excellent hiking trails and access to Lake Superior's dramatic shoreline.
