Morgan Lake Campground and Group Site is nestled in a heavily wooded forest surrounding a clear 45-acre lake at 1,500 feet elevation in northern Wisconsin's Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest. The campground offers 18 individual family campsites with gravel parking, plus a separate large-group campsite that ensures privacy for gatherings of up to 25 people. The group site features multiple tables and a campfire circle. The lake provides excellent opportunities for swimming at the small sandy beach, fishing for abundant largemouth bass, and boating with non-motorized watercraft or electric motors only. A boat ramp provides easy access. The campground is ATV and UTV friendly, allowing riders to access the area's trail system while following state regulations and campground rules. All sites are equipped with picnic tables and fire rings with grills. Recreational facilities include accessible pit and vault toilets, drinking water, trash collection, and recycling bins throughout the campground. The closest town of Long Lake is just over 12 miles northwest, offering camping supplies, groceries, and firewood. Individual campsites can accommodate RVs up to 40 feet at some sites, though no utility hookups are available. Sites 3, 6, 9, 12, 14, 16, 17, and 18 are available for advance reservation.

Directions

From the intersection of Highway 8 and Highway 139, about 7 miles north of Laona, drive north on Highway 139 for 11 miles to Forest Road 2159. Turn right (east) and drive about 8 miles to the campground.
