About
Mitchell Creek Campground is a boat-in only campground located on the north shore of Lake Chelan within the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. This remote campground is accessible only by boat, approximately 4 miles downlake from the Twenty-Five Mile Creek State Park boat launch, making it the closest boat-in campground to Chelan and Manson. The campground offers 7 campsites equipped with picnic tables and fire rings, a picnic shelter with views of the lake, and a large floating dock with a capacity for 17 boats. Two vault toilets serve the campground, but there is no potable water available on site. Campers can treat or filter water from Mitchell Creek, which runs next to the camp, or from Lake Chelan itself. Due to its proximity to the lower lake and relatively easy boat access, Mitchell Creek experiences heavy use during the summer months. A Lake Chelan Federal Dock Site Permit is required from May 1 through October 31 for use of the dock. The campground sits at 1,140 feet elevation and offers excellent access to Lake Chelan's boating, fishing, and water recreation opportunities in a forested setting with spectacular mountain scenery.
Directions
From Chelan, travel south on Highway 97A for 3 miles. Turn right onto Southshore Road and go approximately 17 miles to Twenty-Five Mile Creek State Park. From the Twenty-Five Mile Creek State Park boat launch, boat approximately 4 miles downlake. Mitchell Creek Campground is on the north shore.
