About
Mineral Park Campground is situated near the confluence of the North and South Forks of the Cascade River in Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, approximately 16 miles east of Marblemount along the graveled Cascade River Road. The campground is divided into two sections, Mineral Park East and Mineral Park West, with 22 sites scattered beneath a towering canopy of diverse forest. Sites are widely spaced and within walking distance of the waterfront, providing an ideal setting for visitors seeking a more private, rustic camping experience. The Cascade River flowing adjacent to the campground is designated as a National Wild and Scenic River, preserved in its free-flowing condition. The surrounding area is hemmed in by several designated wilderness areas, with Mt. Baker dominating the landscape on clear days. Wildlife includes mountain goats, coyotes, pine marten, and various migratory birds and native fish. The Pacific Crest Trail and several backpacking trailheads including Hidden Lake Trail are accessible nearby. This is a primitive facility better suited for tent and small trailer camping with limited services. Each site has a picnic table and campfire ring with grill, and vault toilets are available. However, there is no potable water so campers must bring their own supply. Maximum vehicle length is approximately 24 feet at the largest sites.
Directions
From Sedro-Woolley, take WA-20 East for approximately 40 miles. At the town of Marblemount, cross the Skagit River bridge and continue onto the graveled Cascade River Road for about 16 miles to the campground.
