About

Sulphur Creek Campground offers a remote wilderness camping experience in the heart of Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. Located 22 miles down Suiattle River Road from Darrington, the campground sits at the confluence of Sulphur Creek and the Suiattle River, a federally designated National Wild and Scenic River. The glacier-fed river provides a stunning backdrop and soothing sounds, though water temperatures are too cold for swimming. The campground features 20 individual campsites spread through a forest of towering old-growth Douglas fir trees. Each site includes a picnic table, tent pad, and fire ring. Sites range from relatively private wooded settings to creekfront locations. This is a primitive facility with vault toilets but no drinking water, showers, hookups, or garbage service. Campers must bring their own water and pack out all trash. The area is a hiking destination, with the well-known Suiattle Trail and numerous other routes beginning within a few miles. The North Cascades terrain supports black bears and diverse wildlife. Some sites are reservable through Recreation.gov while others remain first-come, first-served.
