About

Mill Creek Campground is located along Highway 108 in the Stanislaus National Forest, approximately 14 miles east of Pinecrest and 14 miles from the Summit Ranger Station. The campground sits in a scenic mixed conifer forest with a beautiful stand of aspens, providing a peaceful mountain setting. The campground features 17 first-come, first-served campsites. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring. The main road and parking pads are dirt-surfaced. Vault toilets are available, but the campground does not provide potable water. Campers should bring their own water or be prepared to filter or treat water from nearby Mill Creek and other water sources. The campground operates seasonally when Highway 108 is open, typically from late spring through fall. Due to its location along Sonora Pass, one of the highest highway passes in the Sierra Nevada, the campground is inaccessible during winter months when the highway closes due to snow accumulation. The fee is $20 per night for a single site, with a 50% discount available to holders of Interagency Senior or Access passes. Additional fees apply for extra vehicles. Payment should be made with cash or check.
