About
Fence Creek Campground occupies a scenic setting in a mixed conifer forest high above the Clark Fork of the Stanislaus River within Stanislaus National Forest. The campground offers 38 sites, each equipped with a picnic table and fire ring. Vault toilets are provided, but potable water is not available, so campers must bring their own water supply or filter from nearby sources. The campground operates seasonally from approximately May through October, weather permitting. Sites are first-come, first-served with no reservations accepted. The main road and parking pads are dirt-surfaced. Nearby recreation opportunities include hiking, fishing in the Clark Fork of the Stanislaus River, horseback riding, scenic drives, and picnicking. An RV dump station is available at Clark Fork for $10, and a free RV water filling station is located at the old Brightman Fire Station. The campground is accessed via Forest Road 6N06 off Clark Fork Road, approximately 20 miles from the Summit Ranger Station.
Directions
From Highway 108, turn left onto Clark Fork Road approximately 20 miles east of the Summit Ranger Station. Continue to Forest Road 6N06 (Fence Creek Road) and follow to the campground. The campground is 21 miles east of Pinecrest.
