About

Mill Creek Campground is a small, basic Forest Service campground situated in the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest, approximately 7 miles east of Sheridan, Montana along Mill Creek Road. At an elevation of 6,480 feet, this 3-acre campground offers 10 designated campsites in a forested setting near Mill Creek. The campground provides a quiet base for exploring the area, with access to day hiking and stream fishing opportunities. Remains of the historic Smuggler Mine are located about one mile past the campground. Each campsite includes a picnic table and fire pit. Vault toilets are available on-site, though drinking water is not currently available so campers must bring their own. The maximum recommended trailer length is 22 feet, making this campground best suited for smaller RVs, trailers, and tent camping. No garbage service is provided, so all trash must be packed out. A mandatory food storage order is in effect annually from March 1 to December 1 to protect wildlife and comply with bear safety regulations. The stay limit is 16 days.

The campground is located about 7 miles east of Sheridan on Mill Creek Road. Mill Creek Road is located in the center of Sheridan, Montana; look for the Forest Service access sign.
