About

Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park sits along the Jefferson River in southwestern Montana, offering visitors access to one of the most highly decorated limestone caverns in the Northwest. The park's campground provides a comfortable base for exploring the cave system and surrounding landscape, with 40 campsites spread across tent and RV-friendly areas. Electric hookups are available at select sites, and three cabins plus a wall tent offer alternative lodging options. The campground features a bathhouse with showers, flush toilets during the operating season, vault toilets year-round, potable water, and a dump station. Each campsite includes a fire ring and picnic table. A playground makes this a family-friendly destination, and a camp host is present during the main season from May through September. Beyond the caverns, the park offers over 10 miles of trails ranging from easy riverside walks to challenging climbs with panoramic views of the Jefferson River Valley. Mountain biking is permitted on designated trails, and wildlife viewing opportunities abound in this transition zone between the mountains and prairie.
