Milburn Landing Campground occupies a quiet, forested section of Pocomoke River State Park on Maryland's Eastern Shore. The 34 campsites range from primitive non-electric pads to sites wired with 30-amp or 50-amp electric service, all equipped with picnic tables and fire rings. Two mini cabins provide a step up in comfort for those who prefer a roof overhead. The central bathhouse supplies hot-water showers and flush toilets, and an RV dump station handles sewage and potable-water needs. The setting emphasizes water access. A free boat ramp and soft launch put kayakers and canoeists directly onto the dark, tannin-stained Pocomoke River, one of the northernmost cypress swamps on the East Coast. A fishing pier fronts the Mattaponi Ponds, and the Blades Loop section of the Hudson-Tarr Tract Trail threads through the surrounding hardwood and loblolly pine forest. Milburn Landing operates from early April through mid-December. Because it is staffed remotely from Shad Landing, campers self-register upon arrival. Reservations are handled through Maryland's state park system at parkreservations.maryland.gov or by calling 1-888-432-2267. Day-use facilities and the boat launch remain free of charge.
