About

Meade State Park is a scenic getaway in southwest Kansas, positioned where the High Plains meet the Red Hills region. The park centers on an 80-acre lake surrounded by 440 acres of camping areas and wildlife habitat. Campers can choose from 96 total sites: 54 primitive sites dispersed around the lake, or 42 sites equipped with electric (20/30 amp, some 50 amp) and water hookups. Many hookup sites feature waterfront views with picnic tables and grills. The park provides solid amenities for extended stays, including ADA accessible restrooms on the south side year-round and on the north side during summer, showers, and a dump station. Recreation options include fishing from the dock or shore, boating via the boat ramp, and swimming at the beach with an adjacent Wild Wood Playground for children. Quiet hours are 11 p.m. to 6 a.m., with generator use prohibited during those times. Reservations are available through CampItKS.com for the April through October season, though sites are also available first-come, first-served. All motorized vehicles require a Kansas State Park Vehicle Pass ($5/day or $25/year).
