A Fire Weather Watch has also been issued. This Fire Weather Watch for gusty winds, low relative humidity and dry fuels is in effect from Thursday afternoon through Thursday evening. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. * AFFECTED AREA...In Colorado, Fire Weather Zone 205 Colorado River Headwaters below 8000 feet. * TIMING...For the first Red Flag Warning, until 9 PM MDT this evening. For the second Red Flag Warning, from noon to 8 PM MDT Wednesday. Maroon Bells Amphitheatre is a reservable day-use event venue in the White River National Forest, not a campground. The site accommodates up to 50 people and is popular for interpretive programs, weddings, and private gatherings. The meadow setting offers stunning views of the Maroon Bells, among the most photographed peaks in Colorado, and nearby Maroon Lake. Facilities include accessible vault toilets and a water fountain. There are no electrical outlets or cell phone service. Receptions are not permitted at this location but can be held at the East Maroon Portal Picnic Site approximately four miles away. Private reservations cost $200 per day and include five vehicle passes to the Maroon Bells Scenic Area. For overnight camping in the area, visitors should look to Silver Bell Campground or Silver Queen Campground along Maroon Creek Road. Backpacking in the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness requires advance overnight permits and bear canisters.

Directions

From downtown Aspen, take Highway 82 West for 1 mile to the roundabout. Take Maroon Creek Road 4.7 miles to the Maroon Bells Welcome Station, then continue 5 miles to the amphitheater at the end of the road. Total distance is approximately 9 miles from Highway 82.
