Lost Spring Campground

Closed — Closed for winter due to snow. The remote access road is typically impassable from late fall through spring. Summer season usually runs from mid-June through September.

About

Lost Spring Campground is a small, primitive campground located along Silver Creek in the Salmon-Challis National Forest. The campground features 6 campsites, each equipped with a picnic table and fire ring, nestled in a quiet forest setting. This is a pack-in, pack-out facility with a vault toilet but no drinking water or garbage services, so visitors must come prepared with their own water and plan to pack out all trash. The campground's remote location makes it an excellent choice for those seeking solitude and a true backcountry experience. It is accessed via Forest Road 108 off Panther Creek Road, requiring a drive of approximately 68 miles from Salmon via Forest Road 021. The Meyers Cove trailhead is located nearby at the end of the road, providing access to wilderness hiking opportunities. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no fees or advance reservations. It is particularly popular with hunters during the fall season. The remote access road and high elevation location mean the campground is typically only accessible during summer and early fall months, with winter snow making the area inaccessible.
