* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of eastern North Carolina, including the following areas, Coastal Onslow, Duplin, East Carteret, Hatteras Island, Inland Onslow, Jones, Lenoir, Northern Craven, Ocracoke Island, Pamlico, Southern Craven and West Carteret. * WHEN...From Thursday morning through Friday evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A slow moving cold front will approach and then stall over eastern North Carolina beginning early Thursday morning and lingering through Friday. Rounds of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms could bring rainfall totals of 3 to 5 inches. Fishers Landing is a day-use recreation area situated on the Neuse River within the Croatan National Forest, approximately 8 miles south of New Bern, North Carolina. The site provides access for river and stream fishing as well as picnicking. This is a day-use only facility and does not permit overnight camping. The site has historically been a free-access area managed by the Croatan Ranger District. The site suffered damage from Hurricane Florence and has remained closed for repairs. Visitors seeking overnight camping in the Croatan National Forest should consider nearby options such as Flanners Beach Recreation Area.

Directions

From New Bern, take US 70 East for approximately 8-10 miles to reach Fishers Landing on the Neuse River.
