About
Long Point Campground is one of three campgrounds in the Antelope Lake Recreation Area, situated on the lake's southwestern side at 5,000 feet elevation. The 35 sites are shaded by pine and fir trees, with many offering direct lake views. The campground accommodates both tent and RV camping, with single, double, and group site options available. Antelope Lake is known for its quiet, remote character compared to other Sierra Nevada lakes. Long Point is particularly popular with anglers targeting bass. Some campsites are positioned near shallow shoreline areas suitable for wading and swimming, while others are adjacent to deeper water where boaters can anchor near their sites. Sailing and motorized boating are permitted, with Lost Cove Boat Ramp located 2.5 miles away. Bears are active in the area, so proper food storage using the provided bear boxes is required. Firewood bundles are available for purchase on-site. The campground is located about 30 miles from Taylorsville and can also be accessed from Susanville via the Janesville Grade.
Directions
From Taylorsville, take County Road 112 (Antelope Lake Road) 23 miles to Antelope Lake. Alternatively, from Susanville/Janesville, take the Janesville Grade 32 miles to the lake. From Janesville, take County Road 208 for 4 miles, turn onto Forest Service Road 28N01 for 9 miles, then right on Forest Service Road 28N03 for 2 miles.
