About

Coot Bay Fishing & Picnic Site is one of nine no-fee fishing access points around Lake Davis in Plumas National Forest. This day-use facility provides a convenient spot for anglers and families seeking a peaceful outdoor experience in the Sierra Nevada mountains. The site features a vault toilet for visitor convenience, but no potable water is available on-site, so visitors should bring adequate drinking water. Lake Davis is known for excellent trout fishing opportunities, particularly in the spring, and even offers ice fishing when weather conditions permit during winter months. The lake and surrounding area are situated within the beautiful Plumas National Forest, offering stunning mountain scenery and a tranquil setting for picnicking and fishing. As a no-fee facility, Coot Bay provides an accessible option for visitors looking to enjoy the natural beauty and recreational opportunities of the area without reservation requirements or day-use fees. The site operates on a first-come, first-served basis and is suitable for day-use activities including fishing, picnicking, and nature viewing.
