About
Boulder Creek Campground is located in the northern Sierra Nevada Mountains near Antelope Lake, a small, remote lake with about 15 miles of forested shoreline. The campground sits at 5,000 feet elevation and offers 68 single-family campsites shaded by Jeffrey and lodgepole pines and fir trees. While none of the sites are directly on the lake, a few offer limited water views, and all are a short walk from the shore. Antelope Lake provides ample opportunities for swimming, canoeing, kayaking, boating, and water skiing. A multi-lane boat ramp is available less than two miles from the campground. Anglers can fish for large and smallmouth bass, bluegill, and a variety of trout. Indian Creek below the spillway at nearby Antelope Dam also offers good fishing. The campground features an amphitheater with educational campfire programs. The rugged terrain and dusty mountain trails are suited for mountain biking, though hiking opportunities near the campground are limited. The surrounding mountains are blanketed with conifer forests, and protected coves around the lake attract several species of migratory birds. Bears are active in the area, and food must be stored in bear-proof containers or vehicles. The nearest gas and supplies are 25 miles away in Taylorsville.
