Lone Fir Campground is a forested campground situated along Early Winters Creek on State Route 20, surrounded by the dramatic peaks of the North Cascades. At 3,600 feet elevation, the campground provides stunning mountain views and direct access to popular hiking trails including Lone Fir Trail 535 and Cutthroat Creek Trail 483. The 27 first-come, first-served sites accommodate tents and RVs, making it a convenient overnight stop for bicyclists and road trippers exploring the North Cascades Scenic Highway. The campground is equipped with vault toilets and trash service. Sites can accommodate up to two vehicles, with a maximum of two tents or one RV and one tent per site. Early Winters Creek runs through the area but is closed to fishing per Washington State regulations. The campground is located 27 miles northwest of Winthrop and is not accessible during winter when Highway 20 closes due to snow and avalanche danger.
