About

Little Fort Campground is a minimally developed recreation area located in the George Washington National Forest near a historic meadow that once served as a rest stop for a stagecoach line. The campground features 9 primitive sites available on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations required. The primary draw is direct access to the Peters Mill Run/Taskers Gap OHV trail system, the largest off-highway vehicle trail network in Virginia. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, and tent pad. The campground offers vault toilets but no potable water, trash service, or modern amenities. Visitors must bring their own water and pack out all trash. The location is remote with limited or no cellular service. An OHV Special Recreation Permit is required for trail use. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on-site, and pets must be leashed at all times with a maximum leash length of 6 feet.
