Little Fan Creek sits along the Collawash River within Mount Hood National Forest, offering a primitive forest experience in the Clackamas River Ranger District. The site is accessed via Forest Road 63 at roughly 1,500 feet elevation, placing visitors in a quiet old-growth forest environment where the river provides a scenic backdrop. The area historically functioned as a walk-in campground with a small number of sites, though it has been closed for safety reasons. No services are available at this location. Visitors must pack in and pack out all supplies and waste. There is no potable water, no restrooms, and no developed facilities. The Collawash River corridor offers fishing opportunities and access to the surrounding forest. When operational, the area operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservation system.
