About
Little Coon Creek Park sits on the shores of Gillham Lake in southwestern Arkansas, where the Cossatot River was dammed in 1975. The lake spans 1,370 surface acres with 36 miles of shoreline, and the surrounding rugged terrain creates scenic views for campers. The Cossatot River above the lake is designated a National Wild and Scenic River. The campground offers 10 standard electric campsites, each with water and 50-amp electric hookups on paved, 70-foot back-in driveways that can accommodate RVs up to 70 feet. Facilities include flush toilets, hot showers, and a dump station nearby. A boat ramp with a handicap-accessible fishing pier, swim beach, playground, and hiking trails round out the amenities. Anglers target smallmouth, largemouth, and spotted bass, saugeye, crappie, channel and flathead catfish, and various sunfish. Hunting is permitted north of the park and on the lake's eastern shore. Nearby attractions include Cossatot River State Park-Natural Area and Queen Wilhelmina State Park.
