Bellah Mine Campground sits along the northern shores of DeQueen Lake in southwest Arkansas, part of an Army Corps of Engineers dam project completed in 1977 on the Rolling Fork River. The campground offers 24 spacious campsites with electric hookups positioned on a south-facing hillside with some sites directly on the water. Modern amenities include flush toilets, hot showers, drinking water, and a dump station, plus a large reservable group picnic shelter. DeQueen Lake features 32 miles of shoreline and 8,700 acres of rolling landscape, making it popular for boating and water sports with an on-site boat ramp. The lake is stocked with largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, spotted bass, black and white crappie, channel and flathead catfish, various sunfish species, and hybrid striped bass. Hunting is permitted on project lands away from developed areas, with game including deer, turkey, quail, dove, squirrel, and rabbit. While there are no designated hiking trails, the vast public lands welcome hiking throughout. The campground is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and requires check-in at the gate house upon arrival. Due to flood control operations, the area has the possibility of flooding throughout the year, so checking lake levels before travel is recommended. The nearby town of DeQueen provides gas, groceries, and medical services.

Directions

From DeQueen, AR, take Highway 71 north for 7 miles. Turn west onto Bellah Mine Road and continue for 5 miles, following signs into the campground.
