Leonard Harrison State Park

Open

Open for the 2026 season from April 10 through October 31. Reservations available through ReserveAmerica. During summer (Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day), reservations that include Saturday require a two-night minimum stay.

About

Leonard Harrison State Park campground occupies a prime location on the east rim of the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon, a 47-mile gorge carved by Pine Creek through north-central Pennsylvania. The 585-acre park features 26 campsites arranged in a single loop, with seven sites offering 50-amp electric service and the remainder non-electric. All sites include fire rings and picnic tables, and the modern bathhouse provides flush toilets and hot showers. The campground serves as an excellent base for exploring the canyon. The famous overlook at the visitor center provides sweeping views of the 1,000-foot-deep gorge, while the Turkey Path trail descends to Pine Creek for fishing and hiking opportunities. A gift shop operates seasonally at the visitor center. Note that cell service is unavailable within the park boundaries but returns approximately five miles east on Route 660.

Directions

From Wellsboro, take Route 660 West for 10 miles until the road ends at the park. GPS navigation may suggest dirt road shortcuts that are unsuitable for RVs and buses; stay on the paved route.
