Lees Ferry Campground
Open — Open year-round on a first-come, first-served basis. No reservations accepted.
About
Lees Ferry Campground sits along the Colorado River at the historic crossing point that once connected isolated Mormon settlements in northern Arizona. Today, it serves as the primary put-in for rafting trips through the Grand Canyon and as a hub for anglers fishing the renowned tailwater below Glen Canyon Dam. The campground offers 54 designated sites in a mostly flat, paved setting with modern comfort stations featuring flush toilets and potable water. The facility operates on a first-come, first-served basis year-round with no advance reservations. Each site includes a grill, though open fires are prohibited. An RV dump station is available on-site. The campground is suitable for RVs and trailers, though there are no hookups. A boat launch ramp is located two miles from the campground, and supplies and gas are available in Marble Canyon, approximately five miles away. Weather varies dramatically by season. Summer temperatures can reach 110°F with minimal shade, while winter nights often drop below freezing. Spring brings unpredictable conditions with extended windy periods, while fall typically offers mild, pleasant weather. The area receives light precipitation overall, though summer and fall monsoons can bring heavy rains and flash flooding. Quiet hours are enforced from 10 PM to 6 AM.
