About

Lakeview Campground is perched on a hill with views of Parker Canyon Lake in the remote southern reaches of the Coronado National Forest. The sites are nestled among mature oaks and junipers at 5,400 feet elevation, providing shade and a pleasant atmosphere for camping. Parker Canyon Lake and Lakeview Campground see fewer crowds than more accessible recreation areas, making it an appealing destination for those seeking solitude. From the campground, it is a short walk to the lakeshore or a brief drive to the boat launch ramp and fishing pier. A 5-mile trail circles the lake with several viewing areas featuring benches and interpretive signs. Two of these viewing areas are barrier-free. The lake supports both cold and warm water species including stocked rainbow trout, bass, sunfish, and catfish. Boating is limited to motors of 10 horsepower or less. Wildlife sightings are common, including bald eagles, osprey, Coues white-tailed deer, and occasionally coatimundi. Black bears are also present in the area, so proper food storage is essential. The nearby Parker Canyon Lake Marina offers a general store, boat rentals, and additional amenities.
