* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Tucson Metro Area, Southeast Pinal County, Tohono O'odham Nation, Upper San Pedro River Valley Upper Santa Cruz River Valley/Altar Valley, Baboquivari Mountains, Catalina and Rincon Mountains, Dragoon and Mule and Huachuca and Santa Rita Mountains. * WHEN...Through late Sunday night. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Low-water crossings may be flooded. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - An increase in moisture will bring scattered thunderstorms Saturday and Sunday. Rainfall rates in excess of 1 inch per hour are expected with the stronger storms with isolated areas having the potential of 1-3 inches. Kartchner Caverns State Park campground provides 60 well-appointed campsites in the Whetstone Mountain foothills of southeastern Arizona. The campground features 43 standard back-in sites (up to 35 feet), 12 pull-through sites (up to 60 feet), and 3 ADA-accessible sites with paved pads and wheelchair-accessible tables. Every site includes electric hookups (30-amp on back-in sites, 50-amp on pull-throughs), water via hose bib, a fire ring, and a picnic table. Modern restroom and shower facilities are located within the campground loop, with showers included in the camping fee. A dual-lane dump station with 110-foot lanes is available to registered campers. The park gate closes at 10 p.m. nightly, with check-in at 2 p.m. and checkout at noon. Maximum stay is 14 consecutive nights. The campground is located 9 miles south of Benson on Highway 90. Pets are welcome in outdoor areas on leash but are prohibited in buildings and cave tours. The Discovery Center offers a gift shop, and while the Bat Cave Cafe is currently closed, the park's main attraction remains the spectacular cave tours.
