About
Kartchner Caverns State Park's camping cabins provide a comfortable base for exploring one of Arizona's premier natural attractions. Located 9 miles south of Benson at the eastern base of the Whetstone Mountains, the cabins offer mountain views and easy access to the park's famous underground cavern system. Each two-room cabin accommodates up to six people with a queen-sized bed and two sets of twin bunk beds, along with air conditioning, heating, a microwave, and mini-fridge. Guests must bring their own linens, sleeping bags, and pillows, as the cabins do not include bedding. Restrooms with flush toilets and showers are located within walking distance. The park features modern amenities including a dump station, trash service, and accessible facilities. Pets are permitted in cabins 3 and 4 only with a $10 fee and a maximum of two pets. The main draw is the spectacular underground cavern, featuring formations like the 58-foot Kubla Khan column. Guided cave tours are available daily, and the park offers hiking trails, wildlife viewing, and seasonal bat flight programs from April through September. Check-in is at 3 p.m. and check-out at 10 a.m. Park gates close at 10 p.m. and reopen at 7 a.m.
