About

The boat-in campsites at Patagonia Lake State Park offer primitive lakeside camping accessible only by watercraft. Located along the shores of Arizona's only natural lake, these 12 sites provide a more secluded experience compared to the developed campground areas. Each site features a picnic table and fire ring, with portable restrooms available at most locations. Campers must transport all gear and supplies by boat. Patagonia Lake sits at approximately 3,750 feet elevation in the rolling grasslands of southern Arizona, about 12 miles southwest of the town of Patagonia. The 265-acre reservoir offers fishing for largemouth bass, crappie, bluegill, catfish, and seasonally stocked trout. The surrounding Sonoita Creek watershed supports diverse birdlife, making this area popular with birders. Overnight campers have access to the park's shower facilities and dump station near the main campground. A camp store stocks firewood, ice, basic groceries, fishing licenses, and other supplies. Boat rentals are available from the marina, though currently only non-motorized rentals are offered during the concessionaire transition.
