About

Lake Norman State Park's campground sits on a peninsula between the northern shores of Lake Norman, North Carolina's largest manmade lake, and Hicks Creek. The facility offers 44 campsites with varying amenities. Sites 1-32 are paved with 15x12-foot tent pads and no hookups, while sites 34-44 provide full hookups including electric service (30- and 50-amp), water, and sewer. All sites accommodate up to six people and include a picnic table and fire ring with grill cover. The campground features a bathhouse with flush toilets and hot showers, three potable water spigots, and a dump station. Six camper cabins are available, each sleeping up to six people with one double bed and two sets of twin bunk beds, plus heating and air conditioning. Two sites and one cabin are ADA accessible. Located 40 miles north of Charlotte in Iredell County, the park offers extensive recreation opportunities including the Itusi Trail, a renowned 30.5-mile mountain biking system, 38 miles of hiking trails, swimming, fishing, paddling, and seasonal boat rentals on Park Lake and Lake Norman.
