About

Lake Logan State Park encompasses 318 acres of forested land surrounding a scenic 400-acre lake created in 1955 by damming Clear Fork Creek, a tributary of the Hocking River. Established in 1964, the park sits at 755 feet elevation in Ohio's picturesque Hocking Hills region, featuring oak-hickory forest composition with diverse wildflowers and wildlife. The park is a day-use facility only with no overnight camping. Recreational opportunities include fishing year-round for northern pike, bass, bluegill, crappie, catfish, and saugeye. The 527-foot public swimming beach on the north shore is free and open seasonally, though no lifeguards are on duty. Boating is permitted with a 10-horsepower and 10-mph limit, and boat rentals are available at the marina. Winter activities include cross-country skiing, sledding, ice skating, and ice fishing. Facilities include six picnic areas equipped with grills, tables, restrooms, and drinking water. Two boat launch ramps provide lake access, and dock rentals are available seasonally. The park connects to the Buckeye Trail with 1.25 miles of marked hiking paths. Dogs are permitted on leash. For camping, visitors should consider nearby private campgrounds such as Campbell Cove, Lake Logan KOA Journey, or Big Sycamore Family Campground.
