About

Kolomoki Mounds State Historic Park combines archaeological significance with modern camping amenities in a scenic 1,293-acre setting. The campground features 25 sites nestled under hardwoods and pines, with approximately half offering views of Lake Kolomoki. Each site includes 30-amp electric and water hookups, a picnic table, fire ring, and in-ground grill. The park accommodates RVs of various sizes, with some sites able to handle rigs up to 79 feet in length through both back-in and pull-through configurations. Beyond camping, visitors can explore the oldest and largest Woodland Indian site in the southeastern United States, occupied by Native Americans from 350 to 900 C.E. The park's centerpiece is Mound A, a 57-foot platform mound that dominates the landscape along with burial and ceremonial mounds. Recreation opportunities include fishing and boating on two lakes, three scenic hiking trails, miniature golf, pedal boat rentals, a sand beach, and a playground. The campground provides modern conveniences including restrooms with showers, a dump station, and potable water access.
