This is a day-use picnic shelter only, not an overnight campground. Open daily 8:00 a.m. to sunset. The park is closed to vehicular traffic from November through March but remains open for walk-in access. Reservations available through Reserve America.

Indian Well Picnic Shelter is a day-use open-air pavilion located within Indian Well State Park on the western bank of the Housatonic River in Shelton, Connecticut. The 30x70-foot shelter can accommodate up to 100 people and is available for rental from 8:00 a.m. until one half-hour before sunset. All guests must depart before sunset; no overnight stays are permitted. The shelter is equipped with 10 picnic tables, two large grills, and a working fireplace. Restrooms are located approximately 250 feet away, parking is 150 feet away, and the beach/swimming area is about 300 feet from the shelter. A 15-amp electric hookup is available upon request. The park also offers hiking trails, river fishing, field sports, and boating via the on-site boat launch. Reservations are made through Reserve America and require at least 2 days advance notice, with availability up to 11 months ahead. The rental fee is $150 plus a $9 non-refundable reservation fee. Alcohol is prohibited. Amplified music, bounce houses, and other play equipment are not allowed. Pets are prohibited from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
