Black Rock Picnic Shelter
This is a day-use picnic shelter only, not an overnight campground. The shelter is available for reservations May 4 through October 12. Rental fee is $150 plus processing fees. Alcohol is prohibited throughout the park.

Black Rock Picnic Shelter is a day-use group rental facility situated within the 439-acre Black Rock State Park in Connecticut's Western Highlands. The 32x36 ft covered pavilion can accommodate up to 80 guests and is equipped with eight picnic tables and four grills. Restrooms are accessible nearby, and guests have access to the park's swimming beach. The shelter is ideal for family reunions, group picnics, and outdoor gatherings. The surrounding park offers fishing in a designated Trout Park pond, swimming (seasonal), and hiking on the blue-blazed Mattatuck Trail. Note that this facility is strictly for daytime use; overnight camping is not permitted at this specific location. For overnight stays, Black Rock State Park operates a separate campground with 78 campsites and four rustic cabins.
