Black Rock Picnic Shelter is a reservable open-air pavilion located within the 444-acre Black Rock State Park in Watertown, Connecticut. Nestled in the scenic rolling hills of the Western Highlands, the shelter provides a waterside venue for group gatherings near Black Rock Pond. The 32x36-foot shelter comfortably accommodates up to 80 people and includes eight picnic tables and four grills. The facility is located adjacent to paved parking with easy access to nearby restrooms and the park's swimming beach. Visitors can enjoy the park's amenities including fishing in the regularly stocked trout pond, swimming, and hiking the Mattatuck Trail with its panoramic views of the Naugatuck Valley. This is a day-use rental facility only and does not provide overnight camping. Alcohol is prohibited throughout Black Rock State Park. The park itself remains open daily from 8:00 a.m. until sunset year-round, though shelter rentals are only available seasonally.
