About

Indian Rock Dispersed Camp is an undeveloped dispersed camping area within the Boise National Forest, managed by the Mountain Home Ranger District. The area sits in Elmore County in central Idaho at an elevation that provides access to the diverse terrain of the forest, which ranges from desert lowlands to alpine peaks. As a dispersed camping location, there are no developed facilities, amenities, or designated campsites. Campers must be fully self-sufficient: bring all water, pack out all trash, and practice Leave No Trace principles. The area is free to use with no reservations required. Boise National Forest dispersed camping rules apply: camping is limited to 14 days within a 25-mile radius during any 30-day period from April 1 through August 31, and within a 5-mile radius from September 1 through March 31. Motorized vehicle use for dispersed camping is restricted to within 150 feet of designated routes, and camps must be placed at least 200 feet from streams or water sources.

Directions

From Interstate 15, take the McCammon exit, then turn right twice, entering a gravel road at the brown lava stone walls. The gravel road extends about 1.5 miles into the camping area.
