About
Castle Creek Campground sits on the west shore of Anderson Ranch Reservoir within Boise National Forest. This minimal, free campground provides just two first-come, first-served sites for campers seeking solitude and direct reservoir access. The setting offers quality fishing opportunities for kokanee, rainbow trout, smallmouth bass, yellow perch, and bull trout. This is a primitive site with no developed amenities. There are no restrooms, no potable water, and no other facilities. Campers must be fully self-sufficient, bringing all water and packing out all trash. The nearest boat ramp is located at Fall Creek Campground. The campground operates seasonally from late May through late September, weather permitting. Snow may cause earlier closures or delayed openings. Access is via a 27-mile drive from Mountain Home along Highway 20 and Forest Service roads 134 and 120.
Directions
From Mountain Home, Idaho, travel north 21 miles along State Highway 20 to Forest Service Road 134. Travel north on FS Road 134 toward Anderson Ranch Dam approximately 6 miles.
