About

Evans Creek Campground is a primitive Forest Service campground located along the shores of Anderson Ranch Reservoir in the Mountain Home Ranger District of Boise National Forest. The campground offers 10 first-come, first-served campsites in a forested setting with direct reservoir access. Each campsite includes a picnic table and fire ring, and vault toilets are available, though campers must bring their own water as none is available on-site. The reservoir is a major attraction, offering excellent fishing opportunities for smallmouth bass, kokanee salmon, and trout. Both motorized and non-motorized boating are popular, along with waterskiing and personal watercraft. Anglers can also try fly fishing for trout in the river just below Anderson Ranch Dam. The area provides access to OHV trails and scenic four-wheel drive routes through the surrounding national forest. Located approximately 28 miles from Mountain Home via Highway 20 and Forest Service roads, the campground sits at an elevation where seasonal access is typical. The nearby communities of Pine and Featherville offer restaurants, groceries, and fuel for campers needing supplies. No fees are charged for camping at this rustic Forest Service site.

Directions

From Mountain Home travel 21 miles north on Highway 20, turn left on Forest Road 134 for approximately 6 miles. Turn right at the dam on Forest Road 120 for approximately 7 miles to the campground. Alternate route: From Mountain Home travel 32 miles on Highway 20 to Forest Highway 61, continue to Pine, turn south on Forest Road 128, continue to Forest Road 113 junction, then west to Forest Road 120 junction, turn south and travel 3 miles to campground.
