About

Wendover Campground sits on a stretch of land along the Wild and Scenic Lochsa River off the Northwest Passage Scenic Byway and All American Road (US Highway 12) at milepost 158.2. The 27 campsites are positioned within a mature, moss-covered pine forest and centered around a small stream, offering a serene setting for camping, picnicking, fishing, hiking, and wildlife viewing. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. Sites can accommodate RVs up to 40 feet. Campers should note there is no potable water available on site. Hosts are present when the campground is open. Recreation opportunities include fishing on the Lochsa River, hiking and backpacking trails, scenic drives along Highway 12, and interpretive areas. The surrounding Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests provide extensive backcountry access.
