About
Paradise Campground is a free, primitive campground located at the end of Forest Service Road 6223, near the confluence of White Cap Creek and the Selway River. The site serves as a primary access point for the Paradise Boat Launch, one of the most popular launching sites for permitted floats on the Selway River, which requires permits from May 15 through July 31. The campground offers 6 sites, each equipped with a picnic table and fire ring. Three vault toilets serve the area, and stock users will find hitching rails and feed bunks available. Campers must bring their own drinking water as none is provided, and all trash must be packed out. The campground can accommodate RVs or trailers up to 25 feet, though the long, winding access via the Magruder Corridor means most visitors arrive with high-clearance vehicles or stock trailers. This is a destination for those seeking genuine solitude. Multiple trails depart from this location into the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness, making it popular with backpackers and stock users alike. A 14-day stay limit applies, quiet hours are 10 p.m. to 6 p.m., and weed seed-free feed is required for stock.
