About

Horse Springs Group Campground is a group-use facility within the East Fork Recreation Area of the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests. The single group site features a ramada and can accommodate up to 80 people and 20 vehicles, making it suitable for family reunions, scout troops, or other organized gatherings. The campground occupies a scenic forested valley shaded by tall ponderosa pines. The East Fork Black River meanders through the area, bordered by grasses, alders, and streamside hardwoods. A vault toilet is provided, but there is no potable water on site, so campers must bring their own supply. To reach the campground from Alpine, drive two miles north on US Highway 191 to Forest Road 249. Turn west and follow this wide, graveled road 5 miles to Forest Road 276. Turn south and follow Forest Road 276 for six miles to the East Fork Recreation Area.
