About
Holiday Spring Campground is a small, free primitive campground tucked into the Ashland Ranger District of the Custer Gallatin National Forest in southeastern Montana. With just 3 campsites, this quiet retreat offers solitude for those seeking to escape the crowds. The campground features accessible vault toilet facilities and picnic tables at the sites. This is a true backcountry experience: there is no potable water, no trash service (pack it out), and no firewood provided. Campers should come fully prepared and self-sufficient. The campground operates year-round on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations and no fees. A 10-day stay limit applies. Road access is weather dependent, particularly during winter and early spring when conditions on the East Fork Otter Creek Road can be challenging. The campground may fill up on weekends and holidays during summer months, so arriving early in the afternoon is recommended.
Directions
From Ashland, go east on Hwy 212 for 6 miles. Go northeast on E. Fork of Otter Creek Rd for about 10 miles.
